It’s 1984 and the miners’ strike is at its height. A group of London-based gay and lesbian activists decide to raise money to support the miners and their struggling families .They are also feeling the effects of a hostile government (although it was not until 1988 that Thatcher passed the notorious Section 28 of the Local Government Act- the first new anti-gay law in 100 years). Delivering the money in person to the miners of a small Welsh town- chosen at random- means a meeting of two seemingly alien cultures, but their coming together has some surprising, and often hilarious, results.
